Donors Help Improve Imaging Services

Adventist Health Portland offers free breast cancer screenings thanks to donor and grant support. Ultrasound machines provide a comprehensive internal view of the body, providing information crucial to the diagnostic process.

Recently, when one of the ultrasound machines quit working, your philanthropic support made it possible to purchase a new ultrasound machine. The new machine makes it possible for our technologists to confidently see masses as small as 4 millimeters (about 0.16 inch). That is the size of an eraser tip!

Since March 2024, this machine has performed more than 260 breast studies, which led to 41 breast biopsies. That is 128% more than last year during the same period! Thanks to a more efficient machine we can see and help more patients every day. One of our technologists wrote, “Thanks in part to our generous donors we are able to provide this excellent service.” Thank you for your contribution toward saving lives!
