Meet the Mamava

Mamava pod

For many mothers, finding a private place in public to nurse their babies or pump breast milk can be difficult. Adventist Health Portland recognized this need and came together with the foundation to provide a private nursing and pumping space for patients, their families and our staff. We are excited to introduce our new Mamava pod!

Mamava pods are the original lactation pods, designed for parents who are tired of trying to find empty bathrooms, side closets and other private places to care for their nursing babies and pumping needs. And now you can find one in our Pavilion!

“Having a Mamava pod on campus removes the stress of finding a private place to nurse,” says Diana Erdmann, Patient Experience Officer. “Providing a dedicated space for breastfeeding mothers is an important part of family-centered care in the community we serve.”

This new and exciting installation would not be possible without your support! It is through your gifts that we were able to care for this part of our community in a compassionate and innovative way. Because of you, nursing parents have access to a peaceful and stress-free environment to care for their children.

Thank you for your generosity that helps to bring innovations like the Mamava pod to our hospital!
