Save a Life: Donate Blood

Jul 8, 2025

According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion. The reason for these blood transfusions vary – including surgery, cancer treatment, chronic illness, injuries, and more. One thing that doesn’t change is how donating blood saves the lives of millions of people.

Currently, only 3% of age-eligible people donate blood on a yearly basis. Help Adventist Health Portland change that number by joining us for our blood donation drives. Every two months, Adventist Health Portland hosts the American Red Cross for a community blood drive. Join us in making a difference in our communities and throughout the United States by becoming a blood donor today.

Here are the upcoming dates for the next Adventist Health Portland blood drives:

Thursday, August 14 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursday, October 16 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursday, December 18 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You can make your appointment online here. Be sure to search our zip code (97216) to find our donation times. If you can’t make it to our donation drives, search the American Red Cross website to find donation drives and times near you!
